Metering of IO-Modul didn't work

Description

My Audio-Metering didn't work in the IO-Modul. We wanted to know if the metering is completly not working. Press the smal white "Mtrs"-Button in the DSC. It's the button top of the bottom display. Select 14: UF/LF. Can you now see the fader-position in the metering? Yes? Ok, than the metering is not defective. The problem is that the metering don't show the audio-signal...ok Take out the IO-Modul from your controller and place it whereelse. Check if now it's working. Ok, it works. That means that there is a problem on the DPU-board. But which part is defective? Open the IO-Modul and remove the so called "DPU"-Board. First have a look which version you have. The version is printed on DPU-board. Now go to. -> "Download"-Area -> 01 - CS2 -> 02 IO Controller -> DPU -> Rev D0 (that's my revision) -> Open "DPU D0-3.pdf" On the right you see "meters". Here comes the metering signal.(H1:19) Follow the line, it goes into the U37. It's an optokoppler. Take the defective DPU-board an put it into the controller. Now power on the audio-tower 1. We will now check if a signal is coming in. Take an oszillator. The ground from the oszillator put it on U35 on the Pin1. Than put the oszillator on U37 on Pin 6 and have look it a signal is coming in. On the oszillator we see nothing. Now we check if there is a signal coming on U28 Pin14. Yes signal is coming. Ok, we check the R7 on the left side if a signal is coming and then the right side of the R7 if signal is coming. Yes. k, that means signal is going into U37 but the octokoppler inside is defective. So that means that the U37 has to be replaced. To be on the safe side you can also take another working DPU-board next to it and i make the same, and see if on the other DPU-board a signal is coming in. Ok, now i'm sure, that te U37 is defective. The U37 goes into U36 (the serial signal is splitted into 8 parallel signals). The U27 (take the 8 parallel signal and merge them into a serial signal). U9:10 on the left side where comes a 8MHZ signal. This signal goes into U31Pin4 and then into U28 at Pin7. At U28 Pin 14 goes into U37 Pin4. U37 into U54 into At the end, MP-Data, MP Clk1,MP Clk2 goes to H2. There the cable goes into the metering board.
