Tips & tricks Replacing the iomega jazz drive/floppy/ide harddisk by newer hardware!
Description -> replace your IDE harddisk with: 2GB SSD-Disk (Solid-State-Disk) -> replace your floppy & iomega jazz drive with: "CompactFlash-to IDE" slot -> optional buy a Compact flash adapter "CF-to-SDHC" and use instead a SDHC card -> I bought it and the CF-to-SDHC does not work!! -> this "compact flash adapter with the SDHC card" didn't work for me -> Now i bought an old old 64 MB CF-Card and this works! How to replace your harddisk with a SSD? -> Download HDD Raw Copy from the internet -> With this programm you can make an image from your old harddisk -> Now put this image on your new SSD disk -> Install the SSD disk in your PC -> perhaps your SSD will not boot! In this case install the software "MiniTool Partition Wizard", select your partition there and use the function "activate the partition", it' s necessary to active the partition so that your PC knows it has to boot from the partition -> Go into the BIOS from your PC. Start your PC and then click the button "Delete" on your keyboard to enter the Bios -> Go to IDE and set it all to "auto" -> It is perhaps necessary to use "IDE detection" -> To change the value in your bios, you have to click "FN"-button and the Arrow/UP or Arrow/DOWN of your keyboard to change values, it depends on the keyboard you have. It's a litte tricky. How to make a backup of your SSD disk? - install "vgacopy", this a free msdos software tool for making a copy of your data - copy all your data to the Compact flash reader with the compact flash adapter with the SDHC card - it's cool because it an easy & mobile databackup solution The original idea to use a CompactFlash-to IDE was from Pascal L.. The software solution was from Christian D.
